Stay in the loop with push notifications for activity, groups, and reminders.
Notifications are organized into three categories. All are enabled by default, and you can toggle each one individually in Settings.
Push notifications on iPhone require iOS 16.4 or later and the app must be installed to your home screen. Safari web notifications are not supported on iOS — it must be a home screen app (PWA).
Install Sally Forth! to your home screen
Open sallyforth.quest in Safari, tap the Share button, then tap “Add to Home Screen.” If you already see the Sally Forth! icon on your home screen, you're good.
Enable notifications in Sally Forth!
Open the app from your home screen, go to Settings, and toggle Push Notifications ON. Your phone will ask you to confirm — tap Allow.
Check your iPhone notification settings
Go to your iPhone Settings → scroll down to Sally Forth! → Notifications. Make sure Allow Notifications is ON. Turn on Sounds and Banners to get audible alerts that appear on your screen.
Check Focus mode
If you use Focus modes (Do Not Disturb, Work, Sleep, etc.), make sure Sally Forth! is allowed through. Go to Settings → Focus → your active Focus → Apps → add Sally Forth!.
Not seeing notifications? The most common cause is that the app was opened in Safari instead of from the home screen icon. Notifications only work from the installed app.
Android has supported web push notifications for years. You can use Sally Forth! from Chrome or install it to your home screen — both support notifications.
Open Sally Forth! in Chrome
Navigate to sallyforth.quest. You can optionally install the app via the browser menu → “Add to Home Screen” or “Install App.”
Enable notifications in Settings
Go to Settings in Sally Forth! and toggle Push Notifications ON. Chrome will ask you to confirm — tap Allow.
Check Android notification settings
Go to your Android Settings → Apps → Chrome (or Sally Forth! if installed) → Notifications. Make sure notifications are enabled and not set to silent.
You can fine-tune which notifications you receive without turning everything off.
Go to Settings and enable Push Notifications. Once enabled, you’ll see three category toggles: Activity, Groups, and Reminders. Turn off any category you don’t want.
Toggle Push Notifications OFF in Settings. This removes your push subscription entirely. You won’t receive any notifications until you re-enable it.
All notification categories are enabled by default. We keep notifications to a minimum and only send them when something meaningful happens — no spam, no marketing.
